When the biggest event all winter is a festival to celebrate a fish, you know you’ve come to the right place. But summertime is even better for landing the big ones. Leech Lake is one of the best lakes in Minnesota for muskie, walleye, northerns, and more—and Trapper’s Landing is the place to stay when you’re here for a visit.
We’re operated by true fishing enthusiasts. Just ask for Matt or Josh and they’ll tell you more than you wanted to know about where the fish are biting. We’ve got an on-site private boat landing and marina and boat rentals, and if you’d like to know even more insider tips, we’ll help you find an expert fishing guide. Winter means ice fishing and during shoulder season, there’s excellent hunting in the area.
But with so many other activities at Trapper’s Landing, those who would rather stay back will have a blast too. Free bike rental, an outdoor pool, canoes and kayaks, and nearby hiking will keep you busy, or just relax with a nightly bonfire and free s’mores at the lakeside firepit. Our Beachfire Grille offers everything from walleye cakes to burgers with guacamole and bacon, so there’s plenty to eat even if you’re doing catch and release.
You can’t mount it, but even after pulling in a lot of fish, you may just find your favorite catch is the memory of a great vacation. So whether you’re tangling with muskie or just soaking up the atmosphere, you’ll head home happy and relaxed.
