Walleye fishing has been spotty across the lake this past week. We have seen some very nice walleye topside in some of the rentals but those are primarily during the night time. Set lines with a minnow below a bobber are out fishing the jigging spoons during these times in the ice houses. Guys that are on the go and ice trolling using jigging raps or puppet minnows are finding most of their fish during the day on the base of most of the structure in 20-25 ft of water. If you can keep mobile during the day and camp out during the overnight hours you will find some fish.
Crappie and Bluegill bite is going good on the smaller lakes in the area. The bite does vary from lake to where they are at, some of the lakes they will be on the weed lines and some they are found roaming in the deep basins currently. Drilling holes and keeping on the move with your electronics will allow you to find these fish. For most anglers your favorite tungsten jig tipped with your favorite plastic will produce plenty of fish for you, but make sure you pack some waxies or euro larvae in your pockets just in case.
There is a lot of snow and slush on these lakes so make sure you have your shovel packed and you look ahead while venturing out.
As always good luck fishing!
